OP needs to update the title, this is a DVR not an NVR.

Wow, I did not know DVR until today, thank you. Apparently NVR is much better.

Beware, major retailers are trying to get rid of these due to human right and security risks. See one of the stories in the link. https://techcrunch.com/2023/11/01...tity-list/

Thanks for the link. I think the main concern is the use of Chinese sourced products for US government security purposes. There does not appear to be any more specific reasons than that. They also mention that Lorex is now owned by a Taiwanese company.

I personally use Dahua products, but I don't give them access to the Internet. If I was to do so, I'd be sure to put them in a DMZ and give them no access to my LAN.

And BTW, I wouldn't recommend this product, not least because wiring the cameras would be a pain. I could justify it if I was running Ethernet cable because I could upgrade easily in the future, but since it's analog coax, no.

NTSC from 1959 and a network dvr?
Get POE, 20FPS or higher, and a CODEC that's up to date, or at least somewhat.
Or get a POE switch, attach the cameras to a cheap computer and run a much better software.

FYI I would only go this route if I already had coax cables up and a super old coax bnc cctv kit up which needed to be updated .. if you are going to run new cables go with cat6 or cat5e and poe imho

Coax kits are more limited due to their standards
