Ugh. Wish once in a while they'd put something besides damned chicken and fish on sale. Both give my dog colitis episodes.

I had the same unexpected coupon apply - that $4.12 (25%) on top of the S&S 15% and $8 clippable. Came to $1.90 + tax. I got the chicken & oatmeal for my "nephew dog" who has stomach issues with other things like rice.

note: you may think this is phenomenal until you realize it's only 5 lbs. Maybe good if you're rich enough to feed your dog this stuff. I buy my cat and dog food bags in the general range of 15-40 lbs. Cats lived around 19 and 20 years. You can start thinking "this food is made of ground up entrails bones livers kidneys and the best cuts were earmarked for humans" and then you realize that cats consume all of an animal in the wild, and *that* is why they don't lack for nutrition in some way.

Who are you quoting? You did not even say what food you use and where you get it. Because you said, "rich", it can be assumed you purchase food with high carbs and not much muscle protein, and things like corn. So, 18 to 20 years is just what you say. You don't even say how many cats.

As is known, cats are carnivores. They need meat! Fortunately, it's easier to feed a dog, and it get most of the nutrition, etc, that it needs with less expensive foods. But, even they should have a quality diet (and regular vet care).

To whoever: Chewy always has this dry food at reasonable prices for dogs and cats if you cannot always find a deal... reasonable v. quality v. other brands... of course, with a little off using Autoship.

NOTE: Felines are way too good at hiding anything that ails them!
NOTE: Especially with male cats, mix water with their dry food. They are more prone to UT inflammation and infection. A serious infection that goes unnoticed can kill them quick. Their bladder will fill and burst. If they are alive and pretty much not lost, saving the cat will mean a trip to the emergency room.

I regularly pay $52 now for a 30 lb bag of the chicken/oatmeal formula so this is a good deal on this food. For anyone that has doggos with various cardiac issues, the chicken/oatmeal formula is a very low sodium dry food -- similar to much more expensive "prescription" low sodium foods -- and a relatively cost effective way to do it.
