This or the 17" LG Gram that has been on and off sale for $999? Looking for a productivity machine to travel with.

How many people are interested in a 15.6" 1080p 300 nits display these days? Lightweight laptop with a trash screen and a big price tag.

Crap deal
15.6" 300 nit 100% DCI-P3 OLED trash? What are you expecting for $900 - a 4k mini-led 250hz 1100 nit display?

I expect this something that's $300 or 50% better than this $600 laptop with 16" 4k OLED:

Your sarcasm is so poorly applied and pathetic as if most deals on here aren't better than the minus 4 thumbs down currently on this deal. I mean, you'd sound half intelligent if this was a front page deal and I had an outlier comment that sounds so crazy for that response to make any sense.
That one's not $600, up to $700 now. I almost bought it at $700, until I noticed the keyboard doesn't have a number pad, which is a small detail for some but a deal breaker for me - I have to key in a lot of numbers for work and go nuts without it. And of course LG Grams are generally very highly rated when it comes to reliability, battery life, and an all around nice package when it comes to slim + light laptops. I'm not anti-Acer but I would pay a bit more for a Gram. I wanted OLED but I'm about to settle for the 16" IPS-screen Gram (higher res, brighter, twice the SSD space) from Costco, which meets my needs and still looks great for $800.

Your allusion to sarcasm seems a bit odd, and downright combative, after you were the one thread crapping. And of course you can't really quantify "50% better" that easily.

The 17" at $999 would be better for productivity unless you need something smaller. The weight difference is less than a pound and you get 32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, 2560x1440 display on the 17".

60hz 500nit would be fine but at least 2.8k FHD on 15.6 inch is just too pixelated for 2024

I agree you can't compare apples and oranges and quantify in a non-specific way 50% better... but take note I did say '$300 or 50% better'. The point isn't to take a ruler and measure something exactly 50% better, the point is there is an example of a deal with a much better screen that's considerably cheaper. And true the deal isn't $600 anymore but $700, but there existed deals that are better than this one and probably new deals in the future that will be better than this one with better screens.
Ah yes, the unspecified future deal card - well played! You don't actually have to say anything correct if you just say there will be a better deal somewhere, some day. And not everyone agrees that that Acer has a much better screen. And no Thunderbolt, some say the keyboard is junk, reviewers hate the speakers, and the battery life is nothing in comparison. I like OLEDs, for sure, but the IPS screens on those Grams are excellent and well-loved, and I trust their build quality much more. Too many shortcomings for the Swift Edge to beat out a Gram, although I'd bet it's not a bad machine overall.

You're getting a lot more than 4 thumbs down (and minus 4 thumbs down would be 4 thumbs up, since that's a double negative, no?) on all your posts SmilieSeriously, if you want to be helpful, try being less combative, and maybe some of your posts won't get hidden, It isn't like you have no knowledge to contribute, but no one wants to engage with you based on how you're conducting yourself. We're not all here to fight - we're here to find deals and learn about the products, which you seem to know something about.
