It doesn't "gum up" The ethanol arnd gasoline seperate from sitting and a layer of water forms between them, the water and Ethanol feed a specific bacteria that forms very corrosive acid and such which eats through rubber hoses, melts fiberglass, and with aluminum carbs, heads, etc it eats the coating off and corrodes the metal. The oxidation is so puffy (it is nasty puffed up crust) that nothing flows. It is "rust" but from aluminum. Trust if it were "gummed up" you could simply run fresh gas and carb cleaner through it and restore it to health. The acid literally destroys the parts requiring replacement. This begins about 2-3 weeks after you purchase the fuel. Stabilizer does not inhibit this, it slows it but it doesn't neutralize the effect.

Comes up as $899 with veteran account. Damn good deal, but I have one of the older models without bluetooth already.

Worked great during a few blackouts here in metro Detroit so far. Runs my lights, internet, TV, electronics etc., and probably the microwave if I'm careful enough. I've idled it through the night without issue.

Manual says E10 is okay so that's what I run, just need to keep up on maintenance. make sure to follow the oil change guidance, and set the fuel switch to off and run it until the carb is empty before you put it away.

Honda products run great if you treat them like a cheap Toyota product. If you let it sit with bad gas more than a season the Honda tends to need a carb rebuild more quickly than other types, by FAR. This is Honda small engines in general - other brand small engines (4stroke) tend to be MUCH better in terms of this, MUCH. Their largest inversion generators (6-7000 watts are the types I have used a TON on the job) do not suffer from this as much as their smaller products.

However, in terms of inversion generators the style they sell at Harbor Freight are FAR worse than Honda products if they sit.

On a side note, you can let your Briggs and Stratton sit for a few years and it will still run just not perfectly. But unlike Honda and Harbor Freight it actually starts...

Great advice but I have had 0 issues in the last 15+ years by always putting Ethanol Shield (which you can get at HD) in all my equipment along with Premium Fuel. Just need a couple ounces per gallon. I always let it run out of fue tool rather than turning it off so no gas is left in the carb. I try and get Costco fuel as well because it's Top Tier with added detergents. Never had anything gum up or any other issues yet.

add a little STA-BIL Storage Fuel Stabilizer before you add the gas each time

Honda is the best, but at this point there are other models with similar (or better) features that cost much less. I have used both Predator and Generac models that have 1000s of hours on them. The generac puts out 2800 which is all the difference for my camper A/C. It is also very quiet.

For those that use this option, make sure you have a main breaker and make sure it is turned off otherwise you could seriously injured or very well kill an electrician on those lines doing repairs.
I agree with sav; use a transfer switch. Which is your best option and only legal option for doing that.
