I actually considered this flight and then thought, "I would rather pay 5x as much on a flight (but won't need to) to go to pretty much any other country that will have warmer weather and a culture more "diverse" (which is my subjective comment).
But again, it's all subjective to each person's preferences. It's a weird world we live in when we say things like "10x the city" as if that was a practical and logical statement worth saying.

Comparing it to another place is pretty impossible. It just is as it is, and that's good.
EDIT... NYC is 1000x better than Philadelphia 🤣😂

Something to keep in mind is that all Canadian ULCCs (Lynx, Flair, Canada Jetlines) run very few planes. This means that if you get rebooked, it could be days beyond your original flight. If you have to be somewhere, I would not take a Canadian ULCC. Everything will be fine unless something goes wrong. If you are not on a schedule, go ahead and take it. If you are, I wouldn't recommend it. Personally, I use Air Canada or Westjet because if something does go wrong, they won't rebook you for days later. They'll swap planes, reroute, or put you on a different airline. ULCCs also don't have interline agreements so they can't book you on a different airline. And, ULCCs, being small airlines, are subject to much looser Canadian passenger rights.
If you go Lynx and are on a schedule, you may also want to have a backup plan in case you get stuck in MTL and can't return in time for work, etc. For example, book an Air Canada "comfort" fare (fully refundable) and the cancel it once you know your Lynx flight wil be going.
