Montreal is worth it. I have been there a few times.

While any experience is subjective, I will say it is hard to compare the two cities. One is great for theme parks, the other is almost like a Europe-lite trip that is cheaper than flying across the Atlantic but still hold familiar American "isms"

I'm a Montrealer, and to be honest, the city hasn't recovered from the pandemic due to pandemic laws in Quebec being too stringent (thank you Legault), which led to many cool restaurants, bars, and downtown businesses closing. Unfortunately it isn't nearly as good as it used to be. If you're expecting the same Montreal as pre-pandemic, you might be in for a surprise.

Lynx is absolute trash. Tried it once and was delayed for nearly 12 hours... not due to weather, but the airline's apparent poor organization. Read the reviews... on time performance is abysmal. Sure, great price if you get lucky, but there are much more reliable cheap options like Porter.
so, you're saying that it's just like allegiant, spirit,...

That's disappointing to hear. I had my pre-2020 eyes on when I saw this deal (last time I was in Montreal was 2018). Thanks for the heads up.
I was there November of 2021 and it was still an amazing time. The food was exceptional and really cheap compared to Toronto (where I'm from) and exponentially cheaper and way better than Seattle (where I live now). Montreal is still a fantastic city, even post pandemic.
