Montreal is worth it. I have been there a few times.

While any experience is subjective, I will say it is hard to compare the two cities. One is great for theme parks, the other is almost like a Europe-lite trip that is cheaper than flying across the Atlantic but still hold familiar American "isms"

I'm a Montrealer, and to be honest, the city hasn't recovered from the pandemic due to pandemic laws in Quebec being too stringent (thank you Legault), which led to many cool restaurants, bars, and downtown businesses closing. Unfortunately it isn't nearly as good as it used to be. If you're expecting the same Montreal as pre-pandemic, you might be in for a surprise.

Montreal is ten times the city Orlando is. Def worth a trip, especially when the city opens its door when the weather gets warmer. Which is also a bit of the downside to traveling there in April. It won't be quite as lively as a month or two later.

Subjective comment of the day, alert!

I actually considered this flight and then thought, "I would rather pay 5x as much on a flight (but won't need to) to go to pretty much any other country that will have warmer weather and a culture more "diverse" (which is my subjective comment).

But again, it's all subjective to each person's preferences. It's a weird world we live in when we say things like "10x the city" as if that was a practical and logical statement worth saying.

Yeah. Every place is unique, and it depends on a person's experience and expectations, etc. I'm at the airport right now about to board my flight to Costa Rica for a little while. Some may hate the country, but it's all a positive an interesting experience for me.

Comparing it to another place is pretty impossible. It just is as it is, and that's good.

True statements here except that 10x one. I've been so many countries... only one i would prefer to not revisit is Egypt... but i now plenty people that had a wonderful time there... so i wouldn't go around saying Morocco is 10x better than Egypt... it's just different

EDIT... NYC is 1000x better than Philadelphia 🤣😂

Haven't heard of Lynx Air. How is the airline? Would you recommend if traveling with family (children and elderly)?

Lynx is well-known in Canada as a ULCC (ultra low-cost carrier). It is on the same lines as Frontier, Spirit, and Ryanair.

Something to keep in mind is that all Canadian ULCCs (Lynx, Flair, Canada Jetlines) run very few planes. This means that if you get rebooked, it could be days beyond your original flight. If you have to be somewhere, I would not take a Canadian ULCC. Everything will be fine unless something goes wrong. If you are not on a schedule, go ahead and take it. If you are, I wouldn't recommend it. Personally, I use Air Canada or Westjet because if something does go wrong, they won't rebook you for days later. They'll swap planes, reroute, or put you on a different airline. ULCCs also don't have interline agreements so they can't book you on a different airline. And, ULCCs, being small airlines, are subject to much looser Canadian passenger rights.

If you go Lynx and are on a schedule, you may also want to have a backup plan in case you get stuck in MTL and can't return in time for work, etc. For example, book an Air Canada "comfort" fare (fully refundable) and the cancel it once you know your Lynx flight wil be going.

Lynx is absolute trash. Tried it once and was delayed for nearly 12 hours... not due to weather, but the airline's apparent poor organization. Read the reviews... on time performance is abysmal. Sure, great price if you get lucky, but there are much more reliable cheap options like Porter.

That's disappointing to hear. I had my pre-2020 eyes on when I saw this deal (last time I was in Montreal was 2018). Thanks for the heads up.
