16-pack for $18 is a better deal per count, IMO.

For what it's worth, Project Farm did an episode where he put various batteries in some outdoor solar lights and came back after about a year to measure how much their capacity changed after a year of daily charge/discharge cycles. Both the 2400mAh Amazon Basics and the LADDA measured at 97% their specified capacity. Now, that episode was made a few years ago so it's entirely possible that Amazon (or IKEA) have changed manufacturers but at least at the time, it would seem AmazonBasics and LADDA were comparable.

Personally, I've been pleased with the Amazon ones. The worst rechargeable batteries I've used were the ones by RayHom. Might have been a bad batch though.

The video you are referring to is 4 years old and since then the manufacturing process has changed for the Amazon Rechargeable Batteries. This is the video https://youtu.be/-jXQNY6rve8

How would you rate POWEROWL compared to Enloops or Laddas?

Amazon Basics rechargeable batteries (Made in China) versions are very hit or miss. I've bought a bunch of AAs and AAAs about 6 months ago during a sale and my experience is that about 1 in 4 were a dud for me.

I put 3 AAs in an exercise bike where I know fully charged Eneloops will last about 2 months. When using these, I get about 3-4 weeks of use; when I checked the voltage of these batteries, 1 is "in the red" or about .9v or lower while the others were still 1.2v. This has happened almost every time rotating through a pack of 16, where 1 battery seemingly drains much quicker than the others. Switching back to Eneloops, there was no problem and all battery cells drained evenly and gave me 2+ months of use.

Now, I just relegate the Amazon rechargeable batteries to kids toys, where I know I won't care as much if they get lost/tossed, and keep any made in Japan cells for my own devices.
