Don't buy a great game at a discount because you want a new one? So I should I tell people not to buy any great game they never played out of the fear they won't make a sequel? That is complete and utter nonsense.

Never played Skyrim. Is it worth purchasing and starting with this? Or will it ruin it if I don't start with the previous versions?

Each version has a self-contained storyline, separated by hundreds of years (and not necessarily in forward order). Mythology kinda changes a bit from game to game, in part because regions and culture change so much. So it's completely stand-alone.

New player wouldn't miss much playing SE, as it already contains all the main expansions.

AE is pretty much a bunch of minor mods from creators that were well integrated into the gameplay, but don't add anything to the plot.

Nah, the anniversary edition is just some fan created mods added to the game. The mods aren't even that great.

Please, for the love of everything good, stop buying Skyrim and various versions of Skyrim, at least until they release the next TES game. They will never release the next if people keep giving them money for this cash cow.

100% Get it. The only thing I hate about this game is the disinterest that it gave me toward other now seemingly bland games. It's truly a masterpiece.

I am still playing and enjoying this game 13 years after the first time I bought it. I played it on PC and these days play it pure vanilla on my Switch. I swear I'll finish it someday, lol. I really can't recommend it more highly, even now.

That would be a neat trick, since it was famously released on 11/11/11. Did you play an early alpha version somehow?

I have an embarrassing amount of time in this game, but I never played the vanilla version. If you have a PC, mods make this 1000x better- you can essentially make it into whatever you want. There is a learning curve to modding your games, but it's much easier now than it used to be!
