It boggles my mind that so many home routers still don't have at least two multi gig ethernet ports (this has none) . Pass.

He said multi-gig Ethernet, i.e. 2.5G or higher. Those four ports are all Gigabit (1G). WiFi 6 doesn't really matter much for multi-gig, but 6E and 7 transmit higher than 1G speeds so they need the multi-gig WAN ports.

Also if you have multi-gig internet (I presently have ~1.4G), you can't even use it unless the router has at least ONE multi-gig port. And if you have at least one client that you want to be able to exceed 1G, you really need to hardwire it because even wifi 6 and 7 aren't going to cut it in most real-world circumstances ... so, to be minimally useful with multi-gig Internet connections, a router needs to have at least two multi-gig ports.

I finally gave up and bought a cheap-o mini PC off the ali- (seller of cheap chinese goods that shall not be named on Slickdeals) express, put pfSense on it, and started running my routers in AP mode. It works great, but I'd love to go back to an integrated setup. I also need to find a mesh setup that lets you put the various 2.4ghz nodes on different channels. Yeah, I know this is rude in the city, but my closest neighbor is 300-400ft away so it doesn't really matter if I monopolize the entire 2.4ghz spectrum :-D.

Yes, I get that, but many people don't have multi-gig and will likely interpret the OP as saying the router doesn't have any ports.
