Select Home Depot Stores have RIDGID 18V Brushless 2-Tool Combo Kit with 6.0 Ah and 4.0 Ah MAX Output Batteries, Charger, and Hard Case along with 2 Free Tools on clearance for $304.

The 2-Tool Combo Kit itself includes:
  • Brushless High Torque Hammer Drill/Driver (R861152)
  • Brushless 4-Mode 1/4 in. Impact Driver (R862312)
  • 6.0Ah MAX Output Battery (AC840060)
  • 4.0Ah MAX Output Battery (AC840040)
  • Charger
  • Hard Case

Note that these tools are NOT the same as those included with the recent $215 4-Tool deal -- these ones are the superior "high torque" versions. For reference, the tools included with the cheaper 4-Tool set are R86115 and R862311. This one also include 4Ah and 6Ah batteries instead of the 2Ah and 4Ah in the cheaper set.

The online price for this set is $359 (down from $379), but I was just in store (Fort Collins CO, 80525) and it was marked down to $304 and still included the 2 free tools. The online product page can be used to see which tools are available for the deal.

For example, I picked up the 2-Tool set plus a mid-torque impact wrench (normally $179) and 7 1/4" Circular saw (normally $169), all for $304 + local taxes.

Here's a BrickSeek link, check for the price to say "Clearance": https://brickseek.com/home-depot-...=322743102

Just to add to this, Jan. 28 is the last day for most of the 'Buy XXX, and Get the Free Tool 'promos. I noticed some of the Ryobi bundles were on clearance In-Store too. YMMV

Damn, I saw this kit in the clearance and turned my nose up at how high priced it was. Didn't know about the free tools. Gonna go back and check what the clearance price is.

If you're not planning to keep all the tools, buying online and returning not used ones might be a better option. I'm not sure if the items are priced separately in store purchases.

Just purchased the other set for 215 last week. Need all tools in that set. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether it's worth the extra ~$100 for the upgrade for a diy er? Thinking no…but curious as to others thoughts.

I doubt it. I have the drill from your set and have had the last generation Milwaukee Fuel hammer drill the more powerful Ridgid drill is comparable to and I never needed the difference in power. Your drill has plenty of power

All the tools in the 4-Tool set are plenty good for a homeowner or DIY'er, and the storage bag it comes with is likely preferable to the hard case, too. If you choose the same 2 free tools, then the main benefit you'd get with the 2 Tool set would be the bigger batteries. But for an extra $90 you'd be better off waiting for another deal to add some more/bigger batteries (a 4Ah + 6Ah kit has been around $90 in the past), or you'll buy more tools with batteries, too.

I have the R86044 and now 2 Dewalt DCW600's. Purchased in that order. I would skip the R86044 if that's what you're considering. The depth adjustment is bad, the on/off switch is bad (mine doesn't work approx 25% of the time, have to push it back in and pull it out again to turn it on). The Dewalt is head and shoulders better. I realize it's a different platform...that part sucks. I have tons of Ridgid tools (most of their lineup if I had to guess). I have added M12 tools, Dewalt 20v (now with the palm routers), some Ryobi 18v tools, and two Ridgid 12v tools. Too many battery platforms. I still like most of my Ridgid stuff, and I love the LSA, but Dewalt or Milwaukee both have way better routers than Ridgid.

Well, what else do you think you'll need? A circ saw is probably the only other tool a DIyer might need, I wouldn't get a new combo fit just for that.

If you buy this set don't forget to register for LSA! Ridgid has the best warranty/service agreement in the business

I'm in your boat, but I'd like to have a circ saw instead of the oscillating saw. Because of that and the higher torque drill and driver, I'm going to try and get this set instead. I haven't used the 4 tool set yet, but I have an old Porter Cable set from around 2010 that didn't quite have enough omph for me to drive some self tapping screws into angle iron. That one experience alone just pushes be to get the highest torque available. I'm also in the DIY camp and was fixing a wrought iron fence.

Appreciate the insight. I agree completely and so did Ridgid. This is 2 models newer and they copied the M18 version that is widely regarded as one of the best

The 4Ah + 6Ah kit that comes with 1 free tool was at my local HD on clearance for $159 (no longer available online). If you were to purchase that and then return the "free" tool, then the battery kit would come out to less than $90.

Anyone know if this rings up automatically as 2 free tool when you go checkout. Do the employees know about the deal. Seems like a lot of them are clueless to this.
