I have this cooker and I am about to throw it away. It imparts a toxic plastic/burned metal/ tainted flavor on everything you cook in here. I seasoned the cooker like the instructions said to do and have used it about 30 times since and the bad taste never goes away - actually it seems to be getting worse. To the landfill it goes. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

I have the stainless version of this and have used it daily for the past two years. No strange smell or taste issues like mentioned by other users...
The rack has started to lose some of it's non-stick coating, but I generally wrap it in foil for most items I cook.

The rack has removable, silicone bumpers that are a pain to wash and may be contributing to the funny smell mentioned by others on this thread.

Same...I use it daily still and only got the hot plastic smell the first few times i used it.

I've had two issues:
First issue: the rubber/silicon feet on the tray deteriorated from heat to the point i couldn't use them anymore but the tray sits fine on the raised portions of the basket.
Second issue: recently, the power button on the touch display does not light up any longer but still works when pressed. I have muscle memory as to it's location so not lighting up is not a big deal.

At this price...I'm thinking about getting another one and retire my old unit to backup/large- cook overflow duty.

I bought the black one over a month ago and the basket will no longer close properly so the air fryer doesn't work anymore. Since my return window has passed for BB, I had to open a ticket with the manufacturer. Its been a few days now and no decision yet. I really liked this air fryer and had no plastic burning issues.

Deal is dead. Clicking "SEE DEAL" here leads to an error page on Best Buy's site, and manually going to air fryer comes up at $49.

I love the air fryer but Bella HAS to know this is an issue. I've had 2. Same exact issue with both. There is this tiny little extension on the basket that either gets mis-shaped and it won't close or it breaks off. I returned one but got stiffed on the other. Be curious what they say they'll do.

I bit the bullet and ordered the blue one. Hopefully they respond before I get to open the box next week. If they give me a refund, I will add the BB protection plan so it will be easier to file a claim or get a replacement.

Well, the folks mentioning the burning plastic/chemicals smell that refuses to go away were right. I received my unit Saturday and heat cycled it (ran it without food) several times over the weekend letting it run at least 40 minutes each time. I expected some initial odors but my goodness...the darn smell would not go away. Each time it ran it stunk up the house to the point that the odor was headache inducing. Thankfully I have a local BB so the return was painless. As I mentioned in another post on this thread, I have had the exact same model in silver stainless for over 2yrs and it's been a great unit overall. It to smelled the first couple of heat cycles but never as bad as this new unit.

I wonder what they changed, in the more recent batches, that leads to such wide spread issues with the persistent burning smell?.?.
