Do a search for similar deals for Office or Windows from places like Groupon, Stack Social, Woot etc and you'll see people advocating that SDers use grey market sites like Royal, because the keys all essentially come from the same place/method.

I can say from personal experience I've had no issues with Royal though, I've bought 2x Office 21, 2x Windows 11 Pro and more recently Project and Visio 2021 all for less than $20.

Bought 2 codes ftom royal keys, both were invalid, when I replied back 2 Royal Keys about it, they said I would have to buy new ones.

Everytime I see visio for a cheap price, it comes with crazy requirements on licenses you need to own in addition to visio, like BI, serves etc. Were you able to use visio on its own as a simple product?

I'm actually saving that and Project for a new build, so haven't activated those, but none of the reviews mention those requirements, just "works as should".

I noticed in a Groupon thread for Visio and Project, someone had posted that stuff you mentioned about BI in the Wiki, but I didn't see anyone in the comments mentioning it.

There's a ton of these sites if you poke around. I ended up with buying from one of them that offers paypal. If you see people recommending the site here, chances are they are fine. Just be careful not to share too much of your personal info on those sites.

I checked, out of curiosity, and found the Office Pro Plus 2021 [royalcdkeys.com] for about $5.00 after conversion to USD. They, of course, want to add on their "protection plan" (optional) and some "processing fee" (mandatory), but still a better deal than this.

Thanks for the info. This is all new to me. When you've bought from Royal have any of the keys ever gotten cancelled by Microsoft on you?

No, but it's a $3 gamble. If that's something that happens, I'll either spring for a new one, follow the instructions that others have posted about Massgrave or live with the nag screen.
