Cascade worked better at my old apartment dishwasher, but Finish works better at my current one. Go figure.
Why do companies make so many different pods with similar names and similar looks?

Looking around, Finish with the red "Powerball" comes in Quantum, Ultimate, Power, and 3-IN-1 (and maybe more).

If they're trying to confuse the consumer, it works. Sell one pod that cleans the dishes the best possible way. Why would I buy a pod that cleans less than another?
Idk why but the cascade pods work far better than any of the finish pods. I use cheap liquid cascade as the prewash as well.

Bought these last time. Almost as good as cascade but not quite.
After switching, we began finding more surprises on unloading than we had when using cascade platinum. FWIW we're not heavy rinsers.

I agree, they're alright but we've had lots of dishes with crap on them after... Never had an issue with cascade

Same here. I've tried back and forth and finish definitely works best.

Welcome to capitalism, baby. The market finds the most efficient way to … no wait, those are the old notes. The new ones just say "screw you, buy the product. What else are you gonna do?"

I just lose interest and keep using what I'm using now. It's not worth the effort figuring out the differences.

Part of it is the same reason that there are some dishwashers that do better than others with the type of loads they wash. Some people only have light crumbs and such on their dishes while others stuff whatever they can in there expecting miracles to happen.

For what it's worth over the years I was a Cascade guy and then when changes were made to detergents due to the crackdowns by the government, I found Finish to be much better for the type of loads I ran. Fast-forward to the covid era where prices escalated like crazy and Finish didn't seem to be as effective as it once was and I've found Costco's version to do a decent enough job but the heavy stuff needs removed more than in the past. Heck of a lost cheaper than what I was paying for Finish or what Cascade costs.

As for this Finish product. I really don't care about it making my dishes shine. I just want them clean. Shiny dried up pasta stuck to my plates isn't something I'm shopping for.
