Damn good deal for an 83". It shares the name with the S90C, but it's using an LG WOLED panel.

.gov or edu won't work for this deal. You need to have access to EPP to get the pricing op has mentioned. I can create an epp account for you. Trading $5 amazon. Dm if interested.

10% is still there, not sure about mounting since I've got my mount done already. Good luck everyone!

Kinda wish I held out for this vs 85" QN95
Don't feel bad, are you happy with your QN95 85" TV? I got the 85" QN90C and love it. I also have the LG OLED C1 in my den and I love both of them. They are both crystal clear, 4k plays unreal on both.

I have the monoprice motorized pull-down mount, it would be perfect for the 77" version, 83" is just pushing over the limit.

Too bright? You people that say that about the C3 and G3 are crazy. Maybe in the dark it's too bright but in normal light, the brighter, the better and more vivid color with an OLED.
Here is the deal with brightness.
Quote :
The ambient brightness of a sunny day with clear blue skies is between 7000-10,000 nits (between 3000-7000 nits for overcast skies and indirect sunlight).

A bright sunny day can have specular highlights that reach over 100,000 nits. Direct sunlight is around 1,600,000,000 nits.
So if you are comparing displays in direct/indirect sunlight, sorry none of these TVs are going to be bright. If this is your primary use case, we are wasting money on an OLED, the brightest LED (no need of any dimming here) will easily win this battle.

If you trust rtings measurements compare C3/G3 against other brighter TVs, and see how low they score on other aspects like contrast, dimming, screen uniformity. It takes 2 minutes to see this with naked eye if you go to Costco/BestBuy etc. If these differences doesn't concern you, why spend extra for an OLED. You can definitely get a 100 inch TV today for less which will be a lot brighter.

CSR can still offer free installation if you chat with them. Why not get it for free if you can?
Do you really want to hang this big/heavy TV by yourself when someone will do it for free?
If they are offering free 2 year Samsung care, I can see how that would be a value add for you.

They don't. It's an oversight by Samsung. The S90C 83" should've a different name. S91C or something like that. The 55"-77" S90C are in fact QD OLED models.
I'm glad I knew that. Not that an 83" was in my budget anyway but it makes the G3 65/77" more attractive with Dolby Vision. it's a great price for sure, but you're still getting the negative side of a Samsung QOLED and not the benefit. might as well go to the source.

I have a motorized mount which goes pretty low, pretty easy two man job but you are definitely right, why not get it for free and in case things are screwed there are someone to blame other than myself lol.

Thought the care is done but I will definitely try that now, thanks for the info

How can they call it a QOLED then?
Where is this listed as QD-OLED?
Unfortunately there are no other 83 inch OLED panels available currently.

C3,G3,S90C they all use the same panel for 83 inch.
For smaller sizes G3 use MLA panels while S90/S95 uses QD-OLED.

They both list the technology difference in specs. All reviewers have been highlighting this as well since the beginning.

I am unable to find measurements/reviews for 83 inch OLEDs. Please share if you can find G3 or S90C measurements for 83 inch.

I'm not sure what you mean by negatives of a Samsung QD OLED panel. LG makes the panel for S90C 83". It's the same panel that's in the LG C3 83".

The all time low for a G3 77" was $2600 during a previous B&H Photo Video promotion. I haven't seen it that low since.

Lastly if you truly need Dolby Vision support then Samsung isn't the panel for you. They chose HDR10 and HDR10+ instead of Dolby Vision.

And was checking and just noticed, Samsung TVs are so much heavier than an equivalent LG one, anyone have experience if the weights listed in the specs are accurate? The 77" is 77lbs vs 50lb LG C3.

I stand corrected. When you go to the Samsung page it does actually change from saying HDR OLED to quantum OLED even you switch from 83" to 77" So it's the same issues when LG not being able to use MLA as Samsung not being able to use Quantum dot. I'm guessing it's an issue of heat/needing. a huge heatsink and it just isn't cost effective past 77". No idea what sorcery they're going to use to get around that with the G4.
