Parts stores are an hour round trip for me. I use this several times a year. I can afford it. I want it.
THIS!
You have to hope they have the loaner when you need it.
The loaner is beat to sh*t.
And then you have to drive another hour plus to return it.

yes they make you pay for the tool so people don't just steal them. You get full refund when you return. Net cost = $0

I have 3 parts stores within 5 miles. Borrowed same slide hammer 5 times already. Makes zero sense to pay $65 for this and I pull engines in my garage.
It makes zero sense FOR YOU.

If you've been thinking about getting a slide hammer, just go ahead and buy it at this price. This set is nice and I'd consider the quality to be similar to the much more expensive tool truck version we have at work. One thing I do suggest is grinding the little "hook" attachment to have more of a flat face that is perpendicular to the threads. Also, it's easy to make custom attachments. I believe the shaft has 1/2-20 UNF threads.

You don't need this to pull engines. Stop talking.

I like to make the 5 mile trip to all 3 auto stores. I get 3 rental slide hammers, and pull 3 engines at once, in my garage. I do this twice every weekend. Why anyone would need to buy this makes zero sense 🤣

Is there a non automotive use for one of these? Like something that a DIY homeowner would use it for?

After I use this to pull engines in my garage, I use this to build a deck and replace a shower, also in my garage. I needed a drill, but I just borrowed my neighbors. Why buy a drill when your neighbor has one?

Just kidding.

I am really glad Amazon tells me I have already bought this. Or else I would have two now with neither of them getting used.
