Used to be a Netgear fanboy; had at least half a dozen different models.

Not since they took YEARS to fix problems with Nighthawk 7350 and tried to charge $60 just to tell me to install the latest firmware when I'd already told them I'd done that. I had been complaining about the problem since 2 months after install, but they told me my warranty had expired after a year, despite never fixing the problem.

6 months AFTER I abandoned them, they released a firmware update which fixed the problem, which had been in the firmware for 3 years.

AFAIC, I will never buy Netgear again.

I have a netgear RAX20 and it's a piece of junk. Lose network often, have to manually reboot about once a month on average to regain network. I won't buy a netgear router again. Asus has always been solid but I strayed away and got my netgear because I found a deal… should've paid more for an Asus.

Not compatible with any other firmware e.g. Tomato or OpenWRT...for this reason I wouldn't want this even if you gave it to me for free.

Did you have any issues with 68u recently? I have been having to reboot the router every few days

Great price if this fits your needs, but if used as a router 1,500 square feet of coverage is probably going to be inadequate in a medium or larger house.

If I replace my Archer A8 AC1900 with this, will I see any benefits? I mainly want an increase in my home network setup for streaming games from PC on Quest 2, but I don't know how to interpret Ac1900 vs Ax1800. Seems like a downgrade?

lol. I ordered one of these about 10 months ago for about the same price. It works fine. I just have it as a back up router just in case my main router or second AP goes down

Gonna stick with asus ac68u for another decade
Yeah, me too. Got a couple that I converted from the tmobile 1900 version (same hardware). I like the way the mesh works. Only complaint is that I've got one phone that has a slight lag if I move around in the house while on a video call. For some reason, the handoff from one node to the other isn't smooth. But I haven't notice it with any other devices.

Just how many of them did Amazon had as returns to have so many used on available on hands? Just from that alone I would probably run not walk from it.

Is it easy to set this up as extender?
I bought this last June to use a bridge/extender. Far as I know, there is no way to make it work.
