Great story. Lots of tension and suspense. Too bad it didn't translate too well to the silver screen.

Absolutely excellent read; holds up well!

Hard to believe it was written over 50 (!) years ago.

Crichton was an absolute master.

I read this about 10 years ago. I was amazed by his grasp of technology and where it was heading when he wrote this in 1969.

It was interesting how he described a computer terminal like the reader would have no idea what he's talking about since most people in 1969 wouldn't know what he's talking about.

Jurassic Park, Lost World and Timeline were my favorite books when I was younger. I actually read Lost World first, but still enjoyed the original immensely. I don't remember them all, but I've read a good chunk of his more popular books, including this one.

Now, I also enjoyed State of Fear at the time, but man has that aged like milk. It was controversial at the time, actually. Kind of lost a little but or respect for the guy…

I wouldn't say it's terrible so much as anticlimactic. Still worth the read, IMO.

I wouldn't call it a sequel as much as fan fiction that they somehow got Crichton's estate to let him use his name on. Far cry from the original.

Any Michael Crichton book is definitely a treat to read ! The movies Jurassic park don't do real justice to the book he wrote.

I'm looking for any similar authors..if anyone has any recommendations..pls do post here
