I just used this tape this last weekend to hold together two pieces of one and a quarter PVC on my sump discharge. It froze up underground and I had to cut it off at the house. After the thaw, I taped it back together with this until I got a PVC coupler to replace it. It was surprisingly solid and didn't leak at all despite the significant force on it

Depends on how rigid the hose is. We tried it on a basic green hose and it failed immediately. Anytime it bent opening a gap, water spewed out. If you had a really rigid heavy duty hose that doesn't bend easily, it may work for a short time.

It would really be best to cut the break and insert a hose mender [amazon.com]

This is just roofing tape. Go to the roofing and gutter aisle in your hardware store. It's used to patch or line box gutters, rubber and metal roofing. Just know once it's down, it's a sob to remove. Prep is everything with this stuff, it needs a clean surface.

Don't bother, just go straight for the Tenacious tape, or some of the other patches from GearAid, you want thin and strong so it remains flexible
