Yes. I've used my friend's to cut >20 2x4s to build a tote rack with zero issue. I was skeptical after reading comments in some previous threads on this saw, but I am buying one this time for my own.

This 5 1/2 circular saw has its use cases, but better to just buy a common 7 1/4 circular saw. It can cut deeper and blades are easier to find. Buy once.

Figured it out, had to select just the battery and it gave me the options for all qualifying tools.

One size up the 6 1/2. It was part of a kit with drill and driver. My first gateway drug. It did well for most of my house needs. When I started to do outdoor things, I found out it can't cut a 2x4 without double cutting. I upgraded to my Rigid 18 7 1/4. Love it, but it is heavy. I don't own a Ryobi brushless 7 1/4. The direct tool price didn't make since with that during my purchase.

The brushless 7 1/4 is really convenient as you can attach a vacuum hose. Makes a lot less dust. Wait for a deal on the 7 /14.

This was a new blade, maybe I was going too fast. I'm not a pro in this matter. But the trade off with the 6 1/2 didn't feel right.

If you're going to buy your first circular saw, don't get this. Buy a cheap corded 7 1/4" saw. I have a Hyper Tough from Walmart that I bought 7-8 years ago as a throw-away tool for cutting plaster/cement/fiberglass on a specific job. I still use it for the worst/dustiest jobs and it works like a champ with decent power. I'm sure it would do anything and everything a homeowner could ask, and it never runs out of battery.

I see it more as a "oops" saw to trim a hair off rather than going back to the 120v dewalt that will saw through "concrete" lol 13amp dewalt with newish diablo never stops just screams louder and scares you more!

I have no issues with my 7 1/4 Ryobi Circular actually, it's worked great for all my projects/home remodels.Sheet goods, 2x4, 2x12, 4x4 fence posts (double cut)

The jigsaw though....woof. Even with brand new blades I feel like I have to put my whole body into it and it cuts about as straight as Elton John. Never had another to compare it to though to know if it just be that way.

This one can't cut a 2X4, but the 6 1/2 inch can.
