1,000 points are valued at about $8
Not the greatest promo, unless you have some serious stay activity coming up in the next few months. But I'll take it, as any extra points will help offset the devaluation Marriott has done to their redemption / hotel category process over the past few years. still not as bad as Hilton devalued their program...but it's getting there in the race to the bottom of the devaluation path.

Real reason I came here though was cuz I was almost lifetime plat, all I needed was another year, which I would have received mid last year but Marriott has been lacking! All the hotels I stay at are dirty, moldy, and have unfriendly staff. I travel a lot for the company and I've seen Marriott go down hill faster than most! Points are shit since the merge and their facilities are all falling apart/aging! Unfortunately, I have quit using Marriott all together and have started building my points with Hilton. Sucks starting from 0 after having status for so long. Anyone else experiencing the same? Should I use someone else other than Hilton?
