I bought this watch last week and upon checking it still has 1-year warranty from Apple. and no signs of use were there.

Apple says that new watches with blood oxygen disabled have part numbers that end with the string 'LW/A'. My watch that has the blood oxygen sensor enabled has a part number that ends with L/A.

Oh really? That's promising. I was checking if it qualifies for the extended warranty protection from common credit cards. Would you know anything about that?

Man, I'm just really torn between going Garmin or this. I know they're completely different watches, but any of the Solar Sapphire Garmin smartwatch models look really appealing. As a shooter, I especially love the ballistics edition Tactix but it's more than double the price of the Ultra 2. I also don't want to buy the Ultra 2 and miss out on the oxygen sensor even though I believe it's a feature I won't really be using regularly. Can any users with experience between both Garmin and Apple Ultra watches chime in on what watch they eventually settled on?

Nothing fancy about AW Ultra except that has bigger battery than normal AW. This is my experience using original AW Ultra, and I am not sure what AW Ultra-2 adds more

You are misinformed if you think the difference is only battery size.

My 2¢. I looked at both then ended up getting the new AW SE because I mainly use my watch for exercise tracking, music and mobile payments. Now I instantly regret it and am looking for an Ultra. The thing that killed the Garmin for me was Garmin Pay only works with a handful of banks. The thing that's killing the AW SE is horrible GPS. The Ultra is like other users have said just a jumbo Apple Watch except for two areas, battery life and GPS. I recently started running more with a group of serious runners and they all use AW Ultras, Garmin Fenix or Epix. The AWU has way better GPS than a standard AW. Like when doing a training session of 20x 100m the SE will be way off and not catch the work segment and trigger the rest segment (you can program and iMessage custom workouts just like Garmin now) or you'll have to run 150m to trigger rest. The AWU is pretty spot on and actually tells you when you have a solid GPS lock. The normal AW is fine for anything over 400m although you can sometimes lose a tenth here and there like I did a 6 mile run with a group and my SE only said I did 5.8 when all the Ultras, Epixs and Fenixs said 6 on the dot.

Garmin has horrible sleep tracking accuracy. Apple Watch has the best sleep tracking accuracy (if that helps).

If battery life is important to you then Garmin is way ahead of Apple Watch Ultra.

All other things in Apple Watch Ultra are almost as good as Garmin. Infact there are way more features in AW Ultra.
