Caution!! Samsuck will fool you with cheaper price and lots of features, but you will soon regret dealing with their junk appliances with flawed design.

I just threw away similar French door riddled with icing issues in ice maker and evaporator coil which samsuck refused to fix even after filing compliant with BBB. I replaced it with made in USA Whirlpool.

He's not wrong about these issues but I quickly found that if I just turn off the cooling for a night maybe once every 2 weeks, these issues disappear. Take that with a grain of salt as this could vary from model to model.

I still have the same fridge since 2008 and yes I've replaced a few parts but not the compressor.

I can't speak for this model, but ours from 2011 (Samsung Model: RF266AEPN) did not experience the evaporator coil issues until February 2023.

Fortunately, through extensive online research and watching instructional videos on YouTube featuring Samsung owners who faced a similar problem, coupled with several days of troubleshooting, I successfully resolved the issue by replacing a few components that I purchased from Amazon that ended up costing about $73. This solution prevented us from having to spend an additional $1K+ on a replacement refrigerator last year, and thankfully, the problem of frosted coils has not resurfaced since then (*fingers crossed*).

Question for those having experience with issues: are the issues on models with in door ice dispensers only, or does it also include those models that only have ice makers inside the freezer at the bottom?

Asking for me, who owns a 5 year old dispenser-less Samsung.

I replaced mine with the first two items but still have not solve the icing problem. What is the third item with the red, white and black wire?

this same model was on clearance at Costco and no longer in stock. i bought it before few weeks and it has failed in 2 weeks. Lot of frosting in freezer section. Costco can't replace as they or Samsung don't have any stock. So either repair or return.
Disappointed but other reviewers did warn about Samsung. Just didn't expect problems starting in 2 weeks.

I've known only one person who was happy with her samsung fridge. And many who had miserable experiences with fridge faulty ice makers, including myself. Even repairing it a couple times , replacing the failed ice maker unit a few times, and it just keeps breaking.

I wouldn't own a samsung appliance again if it was free.

I have had a Samsung fridge for 11 years. I have had a couple issues. I had to replace the icemaker, which sucked but is amazingly easy and diy cost a little over $100. Also had some drain hole plug that caused icing in freezer that an appliance repair man charged me a little over $100 to fix. But for a fridge that I only paid $1200 for that is not bad. I have an entire set of Samsung appliances that I put in a rental 1 yr ago without any issues yet. YMMV

Also here to say I had a terrible experience with Samsung. Replaced the ice maker and had freezing problems in the fridge for years before I got rid of it. Don't buy Samsung. Don't let the easy fix comments fool you. Nobody should have to spend time searching how to fix a problem and then finding the parts to fix their own refrigerator because it is junk.

Lesson learned

My 2300.00 samsung fridge 2 years later needs hundreds in PARTS for repairs. NOTHING on it works other than the cooling. Not the lights, ice, water, or the controls. even the controls are locked.

RUN. fast.
