If pairing with a projector, just get the ub420 which is the same thing without Dolby vision (projectors don't have Dolby vision) and is half price

It was $350 for Black Friday, but looking at the three large, humped, ruminant quadrupeds of the genus Camelus website, that was the first and only time it went that low. So who knows if/when it will hit drop that much again? This is a good price if you need it now, and don't want to wait around for a better sale that may or may not come.

Does the disc load up quickly when inserted? After initial setup I don't plan to see the player's UI for much time at all. I'll probably look as the discs menu more often.

I bought this player for $491.00 a couple weeks ago to pair with my LG C3 OLED TV.
The picture is as great as all the reviews say it is.
I anticipate these will sell quick!

BTW, thank you for the post OP. I'm still in the return window for the player, so I grabbed another one.

Compared it to the ub420. Besides the Dolby VIsion no difference that I could see.

I've had this player for years and love it. You'd get this for the tone mapping characteristics above anything else. If you have a high-end TV from recent years you probably would not benefit as much and can get the UB420.
