The sugar free variety are great. Pectin is perfect for scratchy, dry throats. Menthol is better for cough and sore throat.

No menthol, no sale. Menthol is required if you are coughing or having a sore throat. If you are buying this plain honey stuff, may as well drink several tablespoon of pure lime or lemon juice.

Pectin is an active ingredient?!
Eat an apple, or blueberries, or cranberries, or any other fruit. Pectin in a cough drop won't do anything.
