Just remember with 120v heaters; 1500w on a tiny heater is the same as 1500w with a huge heater. There may be different styles of emitting/circulating the heat, but you physically can't get more then about 5000BTU from 1500w. This is why most baseboard/in-wall electric resistance heaters use 240v circuits.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a radiator is hot to the touch where as this Vornado is not... Something to consider if you have little ones around.

I bought 2 of these a few months ago on sale ($50 each) and I'm very pleased with their performance this winter.

Regular circuits have 15 amp breakers. A 1500 watt heater pulls 12-13 amps on its own. If they increase the wattage, it'll just trip the breaker.

This heater is also a good option with much better availability for $49.99 in store (not on sale).

I had to return this after it burnt my 20amp outlet .
Your 20 amp outlet probably had loose prongs, and any continuous load would have had a problem there.

Why don't they manufacture heaters that use more Watts on 120v circuits?
Because they would overload the circuit and hopefully trip the breaker instead of creating a fire.

While the BTU aspect is true, from what I recall from watching Project Farm's review of space heaters it does make a significant difference how effectively these heaters distribute that heat in the room. Some are much better at it than others.

Maybe I got a lemon but I literally just returned mine today. Couldn't heat a small bedroom... barely took the chill off.

Item # for personal space heaters
I don't recommend the small. Vornado 2 pack. I bought them for thirty dollars for the two pack and thought I got a bargain since normal price is $30 each.

They are so wimpy its not even worth the bother. I was excited for the 375 watt setting. But it's so weak it's literally just a blower. The 750 watt setting is warmish but that's about it. Your average 1500 watt space heater seems about 5x more powerful...

Quite a few left at Costco in Shoreline, WA, 98133. It is $50. Also, quite a few of Vornado personal space heaters for $19.97. Front entrance on the left by the wall.

$69.99 in NJ Costco.
I bought this in 2022 for my mother. She used it day and night. Didn't work in 2023. Returned and bought another one during fall 2023 sale. Costco is great for Made in China quality products.

Small form-factor with 750/1500W modes. We use it in our ~250sqft master with poor insulation and it keeps the room at desired temperature well. $50 is well worth it for this unit if you're looking for a space heater. Something to note is I don't believe it has a way to turn off the display lighting and power light. We just throw a couple socks over it, but kind of a bummer on that front.

Side note, a lightning strike zapped a circuit in our home about a year ago and took this unit with it. Took it back to Costco and they refunded me the amount and I bought a new one. Can't go wrong with Costco.
Wow, 5 upvotes on a post that promotes a fire hazard.

Yes. But the design of the air circulation matters, too.

E.g. A radiant heater with no fan?
The range of what's heated is limited to infrared range of nearby objects + convention air flow upward to the ceiling. Room corners cdc remain cold while the area near the radiant hot.

The fan in the Vornado is designed to push hot air far and broadly to help raise temperature across the entire room more evenly.

Yes, you could run a box fan next to a radiant heater to do the same thing - move lots of hot air around a room.
You shouldn't have to do that. The heat will redistribute by convection. Fans do help, depending on the type of space heater and the configuration of the space, but generally it's only used in one room.
