Just sharing, not judging.
I no longer use plastic coated plates. Fiber plates are not much more expensive and I use disposables infrequently enough that it's more than worth it for me. Had some bad experiences with the plastic melting or oil breaking the coating down. I bought the giant crate from costco of fiber bowls and plates and it's been fantastic.

You have to push the ruler all the way back to get the full measurement

Depending on what you are eating, maybe look into grease papers. a lot cheaper per unit basis than a paper plate. for us, the ones we buy, comes out to $1.60 for 100 sheets. (YMMV on price, depending on where you buy yours and what size) We use those instead of paper plates for a lot of meals. As long as it's not too wet, it works perfectly fine. Toss when finished and no washing dishes.

These are great. On busy/low-key nights, I like my fancy plate with this and don't need to wash the plate, just put the paper plate in the landfill.

They measure them like flat-screen TVs. Those are 9" Class plates.

Jokes aside, the price at the North Attleboro, Ma store had been $12.28 for a while, but recently dipped to $9.97. We use them in the microwave frequently and have had no issues with melted coating.

I posted up above for someone else that maybe you should check into grease papers for some meals.

Isn't grease paper just waxed paper?
