The best info I can find says Celestion moved Vintage 30 production to China back in 2002. The company is now owned by the Gold Peak Group, which is based in Hong Kong. Celestion's manufacturing page indicates a single manufacturing location. Thus, if they're making one speaker in China, they're making all of them there.

I have both, the 2x12 is definitely the sturdier feeling cabinet, and comes with casters as a bonus. Well worth $100 to upgrade in my opinion.

Downside: the 2x12 is larger: 10 inches wider and 20 pounds heavier. The 1x12 is great for the lunchbox sized heads if you're looking for something about the size of a 1x12 combo.

I believe this cabinet has the Chinese made V30's as opposed to the UK made. Not a bad speaker by any means but a step down in sound and build quality I am told. Still worth it for the price and still sounds good either way. Just putting this here for clarification.

Or they're outsourcing those. Or Celestion isn't giving all the details on their manufacturing. I suppose I can't be real strident about this.

For me, "UK made" is usually a negative thing, so this doesn't bother me much. The reviews on these cabs are all really good.
