Check out the specs that its compatible with on the back. I didnt realize it was toyota WS compatible until today so this is a huge savings. Plenty of toyota specific forums report using this with no issues. Some say its even better than OEM spec since its synthetic

My discounted jug from Amazon arrived today but the cap must have been faulty as the shipping box was totally wet on the side and ATF fluid was all over the jug and box(no bag around the jug). I can't believe they still don't know how to ship fluids very well these days...now I have to hassle with a return via UPS store...

You put non-Honda atf in your CRV? I use this oil and it's great but I've always heard that you really can't get away with anything but Honda OEM atf fluid.
I used this stuff in our old Fit with the 5 speed automatic. It worked better than the Honda ATF.

Traditional auto transmission works on fluid friction. If you replace the Toyota ATF every 30K miles, then you will not experience slippage unless the transmission has more than 250K miles. There will be some slippage between 1 and 2 with fresh fluid, but it will go away after 100 miles. Very old ATF (more than 70K miles) has more friction. Adding slippery new ATF will cause slippage. AISIN transmissions are less prone to slippage, but you still need frequent fluid change.

Haven't encountered problem with Honda automatic transmission (non-CVT) and this fluid, as long as the fluid is replaced every 30K miles. Key is not to let the ATF degrade too much before replacement. If the fluid is brown or dark brown, then replace ONLY the transmission filter to improve flow rate. Always re-used the old worn out "high-friction" ATF to avoid slippage. DO NOT add more the 1/2 qt of new ATF to bring fluid level to the normal range.

NEVER flush the auto transmission unless the unit is already heading for the junk yard.

I did some research on bobtheoilguy forum before I bought this instead of the OEM dw-1 honda fluid. No issues.

However, substituting for power steering fluid, don't know since it might blow out the seals since it's thicker. Honda power steering fluid has more additives versus regular psf in it per their spec. It is available in aftermarket brands. I would use this or non honda psf to top off a honda in a pinch but not flush out the whole ps system out unless it was the honda spec.
Dirty fluid is the number one killer of power steering. Since they operate a very high pressure, dirty fluid acts like cutting fluid causing the seals to leak. You should not experience any problem if you change the fluid early and often. People wait for problem to surface before changing fluid. Then they blame the new fluid.

I don't flush. Drain the old fluid while keeping the reservoir full. Stop draining when clean fluid comes out.

Straight up I've been using valvoline MaxLife in both my crv and frontier on the pu it has gone over 120k on this stuff without a hitch
I've been using Idemitsu Type H in my CRV since they make Honda's fluid. It's up to 240k and the AT still works great. Wasn't sure if this fluid was a viable option or not.

Mechanic here, this will work fine. I've used this in many Hondas, Toyotas, Chevys, Hyundais, etc... without issue.
Do a drain/fill every 30-50k and will help keep the trans lasting a long time.

I will add my experience.
1999 Honda Accord EX. Cheap walmart supertech atf every 30-40k miles. Drive in hot TX. Still running. No shifting issues. > 300K miles

2010 Nissan Altima Hybrid / Rebadged Toyota Camry Hybrid
Use this deals ATF fluid every 50k miles
Still running. No issues
> 150k miles

Have several other vehicles as well including VW, Kia, BMW. Use this deals atf in all of them ( i think ). Rarely if ever have i used oem fluids. I just make sure any replacement fluids have the appropriate specs / certs.

I think this ATF might have been cheaper in the past though since i stocked up.

I think changing atf at 30k is overstated, there is no any data on that. Ppl on YouTube changing atf at 50-60k, showing still very clear, like new fluid comes out.

Honda uses crappy idemitsu fluid. It's trash and burns up quickly. That's why you have to usually flush every 30k. Replace with this and you'll be good for 100k lower temps but not as smooth shifts because idemitsu issues lots of additives for smoothing that cause more heat and more friction. Stiffer shifts less wear. I love my Hondas but max life atf for life

If you want to go off book because you are looking for a synthetic, Idemitsu makes a synthetic WS.
