I'm convinced the 9th Gen iPad is like the Series 3 Apple Watch where Apple will continue selling it for years and years after release as a budget option.

I remember you used to be able to pick up iPads for $250 from Walmart regularly. I am unsure why there is a big price jump since the previous generation. If you're getting it for your kid, I recommend picking up Samsung galaxy tablet a9+ that is on sale right now. It has a MicroSD card slot and comes with 128 GB storage with 8 GB RAM.

$150 upcharge for an extra 192GB of storage is way too much. $50 would be reasonable. Pretty sure that it doesn't even cost Apple $10 to go from 64GB to 256GB.

I agree. I bet they'll release an IPad SE that will have little performance gain and that will stay at $250 for the upcoming years
