So, the Rtings review on the U8K doesn't exactly apply. They tested the 65" which is a VA panel, but the 75" is the only one in the lineup using a different panel type. So none of the measurements actually apply to the 75"...

"The 75-inch model uses an ADS Pro panel, so it performs a bit differently than the other sizes, as it has worse contrast and black uniformity, different reflection handling due to its glossy screen coating, and a wider viewing angle."

I haven't seen any of this line up in person, but that's giving me some pause.

U8h is not the u8k.

How's the return process on tv with amazon and best buy? Do they come to the house and pickup? Do best buy deliver inside the house or to the drive way only? Thanks

I pulled the trigger on the U8K. Slightly better panel but what really got me is it's brighter and my TV is in a bright room.
I think I'm going U7K after reading the rtings comparision and mine will be in a darker room. The U8K is definitely badass but a $400+ gamble for me by the time I add in a warranty on it. We'll see how it goes... gotta be better than the V series Vizio I'm using now... after my experience with that TV I'm afraid to buy another one from anywhere but Costco.. the extended warranty saved me on that one...

I can say it looks amazing in Best Buy. Off angle viewing is important for me. Today I'll have it mounted and I can finally check it out in my house.

Off-angle viewing is one of my biggest hesitations with upgrading size from an OLED. How would you rate it?

I did some more digging and it seems like the panel might be a moot point. I couldn't find a review with measurements ADS version of the U8K, so I went looking for an Rtings review on any TV this size that uses an ADS type panel. So the Samsung QN90C uses one and while the panel has low contrast and bad black uniformity, as long as you have local dimming enabled (you apparently can't even turn it off in the Samsung), it compensates for both issues according to Rtings. So if you need a wide viewing angle, this might be the best of both worlds.

The other option is the $1800 s89c. I'm still a little torn, but the extra $150 off helps me be good with my choice! Warranty is cheaper as well and less tax so an even larger savings 😂

I have 2 different Hisense tv's with Roku as the OS. I really like Roku- is Google TV user friendly? Looking for the 75" u8 as the main tv for the house- the other ones are bedroom tv's.

cancelled my 77 s89c order to get 75 u8k. u8k has dolby vision, google tv os, higher brightness. i know i will lose 2 hdmi 2.1 ports, better reflection handling and viewing angle but cannot justify the price difference

edit: forgot to mention u8k has two yr warranty and s89c has one yr

I got the U75K from Costco and I swear it looks like a UFO landed in my living room from the next room over. The first time I walked out of the room and was walking back in I couldn't believe how bright it was.

U8K is obviously the higher end model, but the U7K is insanely bright itself and great viewing angles on the 75" as well with the IPS panel.

Ended up pulling the trigger on the 75" U8K instead of the U75K from Costco. In case you're wondering, the extra Costco warranty was more of a wash because the regular warranty is already 2 years and my Amazon Prime credit card extends that an extra year, making it 3 total. Also $30 saved for unboxing through Amazon since Costco charges $30.

Got the previous model last year, no complaints, I love this TV. One under-rated aspect is the speakers. I get that most people with the 65-75 will hook up a sound system, but the 55" for a bedroom tv doesn't need a sound bar or anything. Plenty of clarity and bass with the built in sub.

just so people are aware, the 75" version of the U8K has a different panel than the 55, 75, or 85. The 75" is not as good and has some upscaling issues and blooming issues. That is what is preventing me from replacing my Hisense 65" flagship from 2021
