DeWalt and Ryobi batteries are the same voltage. DeWalt just labels them at their maximum fully charged voltage and Ryobi labels them at their operating voltage.
Notice that there is always on asterisk when DeWalt talks about their 20V MAX* batteries. This asterisk points to this fine print:*Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18.
If you need a ho 6.0 this is decent. Id rather wait.
I'm sure someone will be happy to snag these up
There's is ryobi battery info on reddit. The 6ah batteries are supposed to be better quality cells. There is also an entirely new type of ryobi battery coming out soon called edge.

Intrigued by the 6Ah batteries, I performed the "hack" last November using two 4Ah batteries. I'm considering purchasing the RYOBI P261 impact wrench to tackle wheel lug nuts, especially after wrestling with the kit provided by my car this past weekend. Will my current 4Ah batteries suffice, or should I invest in the set with a 6Ah battery?
***Important question***
Who here has used the adapter that allows you to take 2 18V ryobi batteries and combine them into a 40v battery that is designed to slide right into a ryobi 40V tool?
Didn't even know this existed - but it does, and I am interested. Assuming some slickdealer HAS to have used this, right???

I've been looking at making one of the 18v to 40V adapters, there's at several different designs that people have used 3D printers to make. This is the one I'm trying first, a side by side one: https://www.printables.com/en/mod...ry-adapter
and it has a link in the writeup to an inline design. If you look at the comments there have been some people make this one (along with some suggestions), a different thingiverse version I saw didn't have any other makes which always leaves me a bit skeptical.
Haven't tried it it yet, but believe we have all the other parts needed at our makerspace so planning to do it in the next few weeks - will try to remember to update my post later. I can't comment on how well the 18to40v adapters work yet, only have a couple of 40V tools & hate how expensive the batteries are for them.
If you don't want to make one, they guy that designed the link above does sell them on tindie & etsy - little more Ryobi stuff on his etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JPElectron
Showing 33.00 shipping to my location in Texas. I was in until that. Edit: opened up on a computer outside my phone app and it now shows free shipping.
Recommend these batteries. Had many and all still holding charge. One went dead last week (kept blinking in charger but wouldn't charged). Ordered that one back in June 2021. Ryobi has 3 warranty on their batteries. Contacted 800 number. Rep was extremely nice and helpful. Got my info. Register the product. Sent out a replacement battery after the call, no further questions asked. So they do stand by their warranty. Would definitely buy again if I need more batteries.

I'd think with edge, these would be cheaper. I'm still liking the 2x 4.0 for 33 bucks lol. I should have bought more
