Reading some reviews on Samsung website makes this concerning

Long Term Reliability is an ISSUE

at about 1 year and 3-4 months of owning the 32" odyssey g7 i had a segment of backlighting go out. to just send in the monitor is over $150 with no promise that is the final price for repair. unacceptable. the only reason this didnt get a 1 star review from me is because up until this point the monitor fit my needs perfectly, samsung did a great job assessing the market with the performance of this monitor.

Says HDR 400. Don't expect it to have great HDR on anything.

My first one had a super annoying cluster of dead pixels dead center in the screen. After tons of hopping around for hours on calls with support they finally did an exchange. The replacement has been doing really well. This model along with the G8 had a very annoying firmware where game mode would be toggled before detecting an input awakening from sleep. Fortunately there is a firmware update on 1603/1604 that finally improves it.

Samsung customer support is a hot mess, but eventually you will get somewhere with it. I can finally enjoy this monitor and no longer have to frequently unplug or power cycle the monitor to properly detect input from resume/wake.

Glad your monitor replacement happened quick. Samsung customer service sucks, bought a battery pack a while back which died after 2 months, it took them 4 months to resolve the case and send me the refund in check which took additional 2 months to confirm the release of check.

I gave up dealing with them in future

It was a painful saga for about a week 😅, but I was relieved to get a good panel replacement.
