Those were the models with 4080.
Even with Lenovo you could get it (Intel variant with half the storage) down to $2250 with id.me and Amex offers. This is excluding any cashback sites.
"WHY so serious!?"
That deal is going to be very hard to replicate but I would still advise to wait until it's a bit lower than this and from Lenovo. They do 30 day returns no questions or worry, whereas BH is not good about laptop returns.
Anything under 2,300 for this machine is well worth it, it runs anything I try very well and is great for travel.

Probably the biggest caveat against this laptop in 2024 is the rationale for buying a mobile rtx 4090 (aka ~desktop 4070ti -ish performance) with this screen. The slew of OLED and mini-LED laptops arriving in this year are massive upgrades for which I'd happily pay an extra $100-200. Even for people who will mostly use this hooked up to an extra monitor (like myself), I'd strongly recommend checking out OLED or mini-LED screens in person. This laptop would likely last most users at least 2-3 years (with a battery replacement) and a kickass screen isn't something I'd personally skimp on when buying a $2k+ laptop.
/minor rant
Since last ~July or so, this same price keeps coming around for this exact laptop (sometimes with 2x 1TB ssd). In years past, the laptop manufacturers would offer deeper discounts on 1yr old models, but even Asus/Dell/Lenovo/etc are hamstrung by the high prices they paid for Nvidia's chips. No exaggeration, just go to your local retail and laugh at the absurdity of paying more for a 1.5 year old rtx 4080 versus the newer 2024 "Super" 4080. THIS is the overpriced nonsense the AMD/Nvidia duopoly wants us to ignore. I'm so gpu starved with my ancient desktop that I almost caved and bought the 4080 version of this Lenovo, but the next day the Steam Deck OLED was announced and I picked that up. Along with the PlayStation 5 I bought back last May, both of those plus my Switch OLED total up to far less than a $2000 laptop and have provided a ton of fun. I'm probably gonna be highly tempted buy rtx sales again this ~July through Black Friday, but rtx 5000/Radeon 8000 in 2025 (plus ps5 Pro this Fall) should be substantial leaps with more sane pricing (if AMD/Nvidia's recent consumer gpu financials are anything to go by).
Also, THANK YOU to Dr.Wajahat, Suryasis, and you other slicksters who keep posting these gaming hardware deals. Y'all make it easy to keep track of the market and score some fire loot when the stars align.
