You could be watering the plants too much. The gnats you're seeing are attracted to fungus growing in the soil because the soil is staying wet too long. Try neglecting your plants until the soil gets super dry and the plants start to droop. Then start watering from the bottom.

Also you should get the bright yellow sticker things you stick into the soil. Those work really well for me to catch the adult gnats and reduce their numbers fast.

Ugh..always my biggest fear. Now no matter what when we get plants now, it gets quarantined for a couple of weeks away from the others. Spraying with a mix of hydrogen peroxide + water and even better, a layer of diatomaceous earth usually does the trick.

Repot them.. you should always repot any plant you buy anyway.. the soil it comes in is crap. Try happy frog.. thats actually decent soil.. don't get the crap miracle grow stuff.. thats dead soil..

Honestly just go to lowes or home depot and grab these for the same price and get what you want. Even better find a local nursery and get a quality plant!!
Always repot whatever you buy into some decent soil. My recycle center gives soil for free but you could pick up Happy frog soil as well. don't grab the crap miricle grow if you want these things to last longer than a year.. treat them good!!!

Absolutely repot them! I bought plants from this deal and one was a diffenbachia that was pretty finicky and dying. Repotted in larger pot with good drainage and soil mixed in with some basic fertilizer, and it's thriving now

Possibly could contain a dieffenbachia which is a very toxic plant. Not good for households with pets or children.
