According to info from Amazon's site, the materials used are ABS and Polycarbonate. Doesn't specify which parts are ABS and which are Poly. They do this to minimize the weight and keep some strength while holding down materiel costs. Usually done on a manufacturer's cheaper lines such as Samsonite does with their American Tourister line.

The 1-star comments indicate one or more of the exposed 4 wheels will cave in (airline baggage handlers are not gentle with overweight, overstuffed, plastic cases). The other problem is that the cases will crack from the huge amount of stress from other overweight, overstuffed plastic cases. Amongst the Poly/ABS/PVC choices available, Poly is the strongest "plastic" material but it's not indestructible (think aluminum).

Suggest avoiding the 4-wheelie design (go with the 2 wheel skate type) due to overexposed and crappy support design and maybe consider traditional ballistic nylon which absorbs impact damage much better if you're not packing breakables.
