Also bought it on the last deal at $219, and the stage 2. For most exercises I still prefer my bowflex 552 for speed, simplicity, and accuracy of choosing a weight by just turning a dial.

With these it takes a bit more thinking and time to set up as you have to both insert the plastic selector pin and add/remove the adder weights.

Due to the shape of these there are certain exercises that are made more difficult (e.g. wrist curls) but others that are easier since the square shape won't roll away (e.g. stability ball thrusts).

If you don't need >52.5lb per dumbbell I recommend the bowflex 552s over the powerblock. If you have plans to go heavy with the additional stages then this is good bang for the buck versus the less frequently on sale bowflex 1090s.

Nice find! Bought it on the last one. Used daily, very good set. Was scared how it holds but it does hold well.

Yup, I share the same sentiments. I have a Bowflex 552 and tried my brother's powerblocks. I prefer the bowflex. Pros and cons to both though.

These aren't the EXP so they don't EXPand, no additional stages will fit these.

I use these with a cheap bench and pull up bar and getting great results. They have held up well for the last year.

No. The increments are 5 in the pics. The 10 lb increments only go 4 down not all the way down.

Funny I used to own Bowflex but sold when I got Powerblocks. I agree with the awkwardness on some moments but I now have specialized curl and tricep bars. Powerblocks are great for pressing movements which is what made the decision for me to keep them.
