Staples reward members (free to join) can get free 1,000 Staples easy rewards points = $5 Staples rewards for recycling any tech, batteries, phone cases and more, in-store or online, but I guess in-store will be credited the month after vs. online which could take up to 60 days. I got it on me and my wife's accounts but possibly YMMV? Expires 3/2/2024.
$5 is probably not worth it for a trip to the store alone but for people who are still doing monthly ink recycles, it's an added bonus I guess.

This new points system basically is a 50% reduction from the old rewards plan with the exception of this battery promotion giving 1000 points instead of 500 points ($2.50).
I usually just recycle like a single AA or AAA battery a month
Unless something has drasticaly changed, I recomend bringing them to the store. At the counter choose both e-mail and printed reciepts so you KNOW they are not going to say they never got it and if they do you have proof.
I stopped shipping the recycling because it is too much a pain in the arse to call chat with them in corecting their error.
