As usual, shipping not available. I really hate that the nearest MicroCenter is 3+ hours away. But anyway, agreed, given where the market went I wouldn't hesitate to grab this.

Damn, that's expensive. Is this much better than the Samsung 970 EVO? I see that the Samsung goes for as low as $75 for 2 TB.
970 evo is PCIe 3.0 and it also the old old version. They had a 970 evo plus for since Feb 2019

SN850X is PCIe 4.0 and it's a good one; it's up there with Samsung

Dammit. I actually drove to Microcenter today to pickup an order. Wish I had known about this before I went.

This is the non-heat sink version, but realistically it doesn't matter. Save the $30 and get this, and if you feel you need a heat sink, get a cheap one and stick it on.

How important is a heat sink? I ordered a laptop that may potentially have overheating issues. Would having a heat sink help?

I bought a cheap aluminum heatsink for open/no case desktop. Makes sn850x 5 degrees cooler. Idle or no load 49-50C. When i run a game without the heatsink it goes up to 55C. With heatsink 50C after 30 min. I don't know if 5C makes any difference. The heatsink gets warm when under load.

A heat sink almost certainly isn't going to fit into a laptop, so unless you're asking about a heat sink for something other than an nvme drive going into a laptop, no, it's not going to help.

Laptops are typically not designed to use SSD-branded heat sinks. You'll be fine...

A heat sink is only required for a PS5 and honestly it'll do fine without it there too.

Is it artificial shortage created by manufacturers? Will prices drop back down if I wait a few more years?
