Not good as a water shoe for sandy beaches. Sand stays in the shoes, chafing your skin.

I bought some and didn't like them because my feet would feel too slippery along any unstable ground. They don't have great grip. I ended up buying some Eddy Bauer water shoes at Sam's club or maybe Costco for $20. They are a lot more rugged and would be good for what you are asking.

How is the sizing on these? Do they run small? Large? Fit to size?

Free return shipping so order 2. Either different colors if you aren't sure, or different sizes to get what fits best. All reviews say they run big and to size down.

Can anyone comment on the waterproof boots? Looking at the oakcreek ones. If these are no good, any recommendations on decent brands with wide width?

Are the water shoes very nonslip on rocks for river crossings?

Thanks, OP. Got 3 pairs of Men's Oakcreek hiking shoes in 10W for $119 +tax after coupon. Free shipping and free returns. Rubber soles, but unfortunately not Vibram. I prefer the Moab 2 vent model with the Vibram soles, but it does not seem to be available any more. Hard to find wide widths in hiking shoes that will hold up to a +10k step daily walking program. Merrell is the best so far that I have found for affordable, well-made shoes in a wide width that hold up fairly well.

Thanks. I'm a swim coach and always looking for footwear that can be supporting, drain water out fast, but also does not slip - some pool decks have more "grit" but some can be straight tiles and basically be a water slide for your feet, lol
