It wasn't terrible, though. Nothing needed re-drilling. Solid unit for my girls who climb all over it. The roof over the bench does hold water though. It's not a big deal, but it's likely to be the first failure point in another year or so. I was impressed by the wood and build quality. This was the price I got it at, too. Highly recommend for young kids.

A lot of reviews mention several hours for assembly. Nothing comes pre-assembled.

Do you or anyone on SD know what kind of wood they use for these play house? Wondering if I can leave these outside in southern Texas humid weather and how long it would last since south Texas is humid/hot/and plenty of insects/pests in the yard. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure you can treat the wood before or after assembly to protect it.

I'm in Florida. I believe it is cedar. It's not super thick, but our yard floods at least twice a week and the boards are still looking good a year later.

We have this and it's terrible to assemble and I've been doing a lot of this. Granted my kid loves it and it was all worth it.

I live north central Texas and ours was in direct sunlight. Not this specific pizza set, but it lasted many years. I actually bought two on sale and attached them to give a much larger play space for my 3 kids and their friends.

In Houston and bought a similar set from Kidkraft.

I did treat with some uv protectant beforehand. After 2 years it is 90% fine. Actualky surprising how well it has held up. Some of the plastic has shown signs of age but actually much better than other kids stuff in the yard.

For the set I have it took 2 people 5 hours. You MUST have a drill or power screwdriver. If not it will take days. My set had >500 screws. I would say 90% we could screw with the drill and 10% by hand.

Overall this is a great set for the price. I bought my set which is just a house for $130 second hand but new in box. For less than $200 it is great especially as I had to transport it which was a hassle.
