This is tempting. There is a newer XR reciprocating saw from DeWalt, model DCS382 which is more powerful and transfers less vibration. However, it is longer, heavier, and doesn't have a chuck that allows the blade to be put in 4 different positions.

This version is great for tight spaces and it is easier to store when you are not using it.

I'm wanting to pay around $100 for it, but this is a solid price for a brand new tool with declining availability. Very tempting...

Is this kind of saw better for long straight cuts vs jigsaw or circular? I can't have any other kind. Need portable. I bought a rigid jig saw but it's not so good for straight cuts even with a guide.
