I'm assuming that all of this content is in the larger box set?

Or just get the complete set and be done with it. https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Calvin-Hobbes-Bill-Watterson/dp/1449433251/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2S9P36WOD... [amazon.com]

Yes I'm pretty sure it is. Otherwise it would be nonsense to call the box set "The Complete Calvin and Hobbes"

Huh. I put in the great old movie "Gotcha" about a paintgun-loving college student getting accidentally wrapped up in fighting spies. I expected that the lower priced Item, this book would be cut in half, making it 5.50. But instead it cut a few bucks off of the price of each item, effectively diving the 5.50 discount among both items. Somehow, that just feels odd, in an unimportant way

Hope it is successful but not sure I get the small format. If the goal is to reach the next gen, probably needs an ebook release.

I own two copies of the complete set as well as a copy of all the books.

I'd think the old book format is a reasonable size, anything smaller would be harder to read and see the illustration.

Ild personally like a high rez version for large tablet consumption.

Have you tried to actually read this set? It's too heavy and awkward to hold. We just took ours to the used book store recently and picked up paperbacks instead.

Hate to break it to you, but the new gen doesn't even know this even exists. Too old.

I have the complete set in hardback but trying to keep it in pristine condition so I rarely read it. This smaller set might be nice to carry around and read whenever I'm in the mood.

I can vouch for what they're doing here. The complete set in hardcover is impossible for my young ones to curl up with; they're manageable on a table or countertop, but that's not how kids Enjoy Things. With this form factor, they can take them anywhere and read them effortlessly, which they do, and they ask once in awhile how many days until the next set is released, and can't help but read it all again.

I tell them they don't have to wait as long as I'd had to wait for the new one to show up in the Scholastic book order. I still have a few of them around, but they appreciate that they're getting everything in order with these new books.

Yes, I have several full scans of the complete run digitally as well, but it doesn't have the same charm for me or for them.

Addressing someone else's concern about their being too small to show all the detail: the Sunday comics are a bit small, but Watterson didn't have detail in his work more intricate than what I can see here.
