Old vizio used to be good but their firmware updates are downright horrendous. Just look on reddit and google and you'll see.

If I was going for a budget brand I'd go for TCL or Hisense

My last Vizio bricked at 2 years. Their software is notoriously bad and it conveniently died after an OTA update…never again

Seems like a good price for a 65 inch with realistic expectations. Many of the bad reviews appear to be related to shipping damage

Had Vizio for my last two tv's for the past six years. Great budget brand. Never had an issue except for an occasional disconnect due to their cheap wifi cards. Switching to Ethernet was a simple fix for me.

Seriously. Had two visio's in the last 4 years, both now have separate issues. All my other TV's are fine. Stay away from this brand

Company went downhill after their CTO Matt McRae left.

I've had 4 Vizios over my lifetime, and every single one developed the same issue about 2-3 years after having it. Black screen of death. Read online forums about people who complain about these TVs. I encourage you to never buy this brand of TVs ever. Their customer support is also terrible

Walmart will buy whatever is cheaper...Vizio already lost the market they had 15 years ago...

If it's the updates that are causing the issues, presumably b/c the basic hardware that was the cheapest available at production can't handle anything newer, wouldn't leaving it offline and using a streaming box solve this? I run Apple TVs on all my screens anyway.

I have a 8 or 9 year old Samsung 1080p 55" in my garage, and I'm tempted to upgrade it. But it's lasted me a long time, and shows no sines of slowing down. So I'd hate to let it go for something that's going to crap out in a couple years.

Everyone's complaining how they have some dying at the 2 year mark, att this price that's probably par for the course. Secondly, you can always buy the Allstate plan for $50 and have 5 years of coverage (have had great success with replacing robot vacuums with them).

I would never buy another Vizio after what they've done over the last year with their stupid firmware updates. They are absolutely not in the business of making their TV's user friendly, that is for sure. In case you aren't aware, they made an update several months ago that forced LIVE TV to go through their APP, so there is not option of turning off the crazy array of "free" channels they want you sift through. I ended up resetting the TV back to factory and not hooking up WIFI at all. I bought a Chromestick to do all my WIFI related stuff. Vizio is just not in the bizness to make customers happy.

This makes me sad their quality had diminish…I've had an old 65" Vizio since 2012 still running fine, and I use it all the time.
