Reviews say it runs super hot near 100 degrees while gaming. Is that a deal breaker for someone who wants a gaming laptop with a long lifespan?
Care to share those reviews?
The ones I found were either the 4K or QHD models with i7 or i9. For those, the high temperatures are expected, and a given.
1. Jarod's Tech review[youtube.com] of a 4K i9 model doesn't even state it to get 100 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature he got was 85-90 degrees and he clearly stated that it was under extreme load and stress which isn't usually the case with a normal user, esp not constantly.
2. The review on notebookcheck[notebookcheck.net] is also of the QHD i7 model and again, only states the temperatures to sore up to 90 degrees while playing Witcher and putting the laptop in extreme conditions. Otherwise the laptop runs relatively cool.
3. Tech Rader[techradar.com] also reviewed the 4K 120Hz i9 model and while it stated that it runs hot, they did not mention a single temperature anywhere in their review. Hence, why I never go with their reviews to begin with.
Again, links to the reviews you're referring to would be appreciated. I've stated 3.
"Same goes for the processor as the GPU, too. Where the 10th Gen chip, and the Strix's own 12900H CPU, maxed at 100°C, the new GS66 topped out at 97°C."
I looked up what temperatures ate bad for laptop and the first result on Google said above 90 degrees risks damaging hardware. Not saying that's right or wrong. thats why I asked
