Microcenter's 7700x bundle is now $350. For $50 more you get: a significantly better cpu (the 7700x is a bit faster than the 5800x3d in gaming and much faster in every other way), a competent am5 platform motherboard (supporting future generations of amd cpus, guaranteed to support zen5 and most likely zen6 as well), and 32gb of ddr5 6000 CL32 using hynix memory chips (twice as much ram as this bundle, and is high quality ddr5). 7700x bundle deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/17288362-amd-ryzen-7-7700x-msi-b650-p-pro-wifi-mobo-g-skill-32gb-ddr5-6000-cl32-ram-microcenter-in-store-pickup-now-349-99

If the 7700x bundle was still $400 this 5800x3d bundle could make some sense as a budget option, but at $350 the 7700x bundle absolutely blows this one away in terms of value.

I believe you are confused about something. The 5800x3d (the cpu in this bundle) is only marginally slower on average than the 7700x in gaming, due to it's massively increased L3 cache. It still loses to the 7700x in gaming performance by a bit, but gets remarkably close for a last gen cpu. In all other respects the 5800x3d is significantly worse than the 7700x, since the vast majority of non-gaming workloads don't benefit much from additional L3 cache, and the 5800x3d is both slower clocked and has a worse ipc (instructions per cycle/clock). This 5800x3d bundle is normally $350 (and sometimes drops to $330), but microcenter is running a two day promotion where all their amd bundles are $50 off. That means this 5800x3d bundle is now $300 (down from $350), the 7700x bundle is now $350 (down from $400), and the 7800x3d bundle is now $450 (down from $500).

zen 3 (the 5800x3d) does not have integrated graphics, but zen 4 (7000 series) does.

if you just need an avg pc, the 7700x should fit the bill and also allow you to upgrade later on if you want.

the 7800x3d is the best gaming cpu at the moment but at higher resolutions/settings, and depending on the gpu & games you play, the differences become fairly marginal.

Wait a minute, why was this $399 the other day and the 7800x3d $499 if this is a better processor?

So which is the better deal?So many of these popping up. I want to jump on one of them. Are we splitting hairs at this point. Need an average PC. Do all these AMDs have integrated graphics ?

that's the 7800, this is the 5800

bundles
5800x3d- $300
7700x- $350
7800x3d- $450 this just popped up!

All 3 deals are crazy, with the 5800 you could skip the 8000 gen and focus on gpus, its a great cpu. with the 7700x you could upgrade to a 8800x3d and sell the 7700x. and with the 7800x3d you could skip the 8000 gen...

The 5800X3D bundle works if you already have a decent AM4 rig already and just want to squeeze a few more years out of it - just sell the mobo and the RAM unless you happen to need those exact sticks and you get the the chip for ~$200

Otherwise it's pretty hard to make a case to start from scratch with it given Microcenter's rather generous bundle offerings

All zen4 (7000 series) cpus have an igpu, the 5800x3d does not. The zen 4 igpu has two rdna2 compute units clocked at 2200mhz, and can support up to four 4k@60hz displays (assuming the motherboard has the requisite output ports).

The 7700x bundle for $350 is the best value if you don't need absolute top tier gaming performance. The $450 7800x3d bundle comes with a moderately better motherboard (which supports a gen5 ssd), but the one included in the 7700x bundle is still reasonably competent. I'd personally recommend saving the $100 and going with the 7700x bundle, but if you want something higher end and moderately more futureproof the 7800x3d deal at $450 is still a good option.

7700x bundle at $350 (my personal recommendation for "an average PC"): https://slickdeals.net/f/17288362-amd-ryzen-7-7700x-msi-b650-p-pro-wifi-mobo-g-skill-32gb-ddr5-6000-cl32-ram-microcenter-in-store-pickup-now-349-99

ya, I'm with ya on that, I recommend the 7700x bundle, take the 100 saved add in another 100 and level and up your gpu purchase or save it toward one in the future. or 8800x3d in a few years, if the world's still standing.
(noticed I missquoted the 7700x bundle πŸ‘)

How does it work if you want to go back and return the RAM and motherboard in terms of percentage of money back? Can you do that? I just want the CPU...

Go to view cart...it shows you the breakdown in price for each item of the bundle. The store manager should let you exchange...there is not guarantee on return for cash.

Oh got it, thanks. I don't ever remember having an issue with getting money back on a return though, even in a combo. Or maybe that was Fry's...

That's good... They have a lot of stock on these... They are just trying to get rid of them.

Not only that, over time, the 7800x3d will be even better for gaming than the other two chips as more games release that can take advantage of it.

Also, the 7700x at $50 more than the 5800x3d is definitely a no brainer if somebody doesn't want the 78003dx. For $50 more than the 5800 you are building on AM5 vs AM4. Just a much better path for down the line upgrading.
