Some of my Milwaukee ones survived for over 5 years but you do start noticing the runtime going to vs newer batteries.
Mine came in sealed with packaging tape in the box. It did not have a plastic bag or a manual or any printed literature. Just a black anti-theft strip.
I did notice the bottom rubber-ish part of the battery is a little oily/sticky. Like when you store something in a hot environment for a while. I am starting to wonder if it is previously used or not....
