Quote from Derbo View quoted comment :
I wasn't sure what to expect when I was gifted the game... and, honestly, I only played it through because it was a gift, but I'm glad I did. Not what I'm used to when I think "computer game"... it was like an interactive short(er) (/good) story where one plays the protagonist through first person view, and starts with their first day on a 'get away from it all' sort of job. There are some choices that affect minor game details and dialogue.
This exactly mirrors my experience. A friend gifted it to me for my birthday, but I'd never heard of it or played anything like it before. I was going through a hard time, and got super into my feelers with this game, and it was awesome. Play with headphones in the dark for the ambience.

I bought this game when it was on sale on steam for $1.99. Gave it a fair test - about an hour - and then got a refund due to two main factors:

1) REALLY slow, drawn-out character-building sequence at the beginning. Took somewhere around 10 minutes just to get through the beginning story. They could have skipped a LOT of this and revealed it throughout the game play better.

2) Dialogue feels like it was written by a middle-schooler. Way too much unnecessary swearing - not that I mind it normally, but it was very clunky. It TOTALLY threw me out of the immersion of the game.

Although the graphics team did a GREAT job, I was just much too distracted by the above to really enjoy this title

One of my fav indie/AA games ever. The gameplay isnt anything special but the story/dialogue are what really make it.

And (kinda spoiler alert i guess) i personally am fine with the ending, i dont need my games to have some super awesome ending where all this interesting shit happens and everyone lives happily ever after THE END! Sometimes shit just happens and its bittersweet, and its just like real life in that way and i find that beautiful.

Everyone complaining about the short completion time. I actually appreciate it. Especially for this type of game. This was the perfect game for me to go through in a night or two. Especially since it's a story based walking sim I appreciate them not artificially padding the play time.

Since when has play time ever equaled quality anyways? Does anyone ever say oh this 2 hour movie isn't worth the ticket price. Go see this 3 hour movie instead.

Great for those who suck at video games, like myself. Far too short, but the story and ambience of the game are one of my favorites.
