Consumer Reports rates the Samsung 67 compared to this LG which is 64. Also not seeing any significant difference between QLED vs LED. So hard to decide.
I have this TV in a 65". I went into Costco & BB for a Samsung, I was looking for a Sony replacement(I prefer my Sony but they don't have anything I want in the price range). Went to Costco and they had the Samsung CU7000 and the LG UR8000 next to each other. I preferred the look of the LG but decided I wanted to go to Best Buy just in case. At BB they had a similar LG LED I was interested in and this QNED side by side and this QNED blew it a way. That's how I ended up with the 65" QNED.
I'm a basic entertainment guy. I watch sports most frequently 1-2x per week, watch shows maybe 1x per week and video games every few months. I'm happy with it and I'm going to order the 75" for a back room.
Thanks for review. i ordered this for my mom bday. will replace her 55" led tv
This TV is 79 lbs without stand.
The Hisense from Costco (75A65K) is 57 lbs (without stand).
I bought the Hisense from Costco couple of months ago and will my TV stand hold 22 lbs more of LG TV? ( I need to check...)
But having LG at home gives a bit better prestige value than Hisense, I guess?
I was a little disappointed at first with not enough brightness, but after playing with settings for a while, I got it all dialed in where the picture is very good and bright, very balanced color, and detailed. It took a while to find the golden combo of settings across all content without over saturation of color, gamma, and contrast. It looks very good.
This TV has good viewing angles as well (which is perfect for our needs).. very little back light bleed at certain times, but most of the time none.
I did play with local dimming settings as well, and have it dialed up. Yeah it is not mini led but not bad either.
Motion handling is acceptable, definitely not great, but acceptable.
Upscaling is decent, definitely better than the Roku brand QLED TVs. Clarity is also better than the Roku QLED TVs.
After the OS update, it did slow the interface down a little, but still is ok. We won't install too many apps on it, so that should mitigate any slowdowns. We do not constantly flip apps, so really not a concern. Changing OTA channels is always quick. LG channels are kind of slow.
So far, it is a keeper, and for $600 it is a better choice compared to the alternatives in the price range IMHO at this time. For example, Hisense can be playing the lottery with backlight bleed, viewing angles, QA, and "dirty" pixels.. even on their higher range TVs (U7, U8).
It is not a "great" TV, but in the "good" range for standard viewing and light gaming. The occasional UI slowdown may be annoying for some, but nothing that is a deal breaker for us. I am using a GB wired connection so that helps.

Consumer Reports is great for reviews on cars, toasters and insurance plans. I stopped using their reviews for anything audio/visual 20 years ago.
