8GB RAM, slower single channel 256GB SSD, 60Hz display, last generation chip, new model on the way in less than a month. It's a pass for me.

I don't get people who say 13/14in laptops are too cramped for daily use. As someone who spent most of their time on a 32in monitor for the better part of the last five years and was forced to suddenly switch to a 14in daily-driver laptop, I really don't get it. Not to mention, I don't see what just roughly 20% of a screen increase is going to do when they are already that small. I'd rather have a laptop that's a bit more compact and easy to handle

I wish the 13" was on sale for $800-$900. I tried the 15" model but it's big and heavy. Like a portable desktop almost.

Should be shouted from the mountain tops. Apple has no excuse, 8gb is not different on Macos than windows. The world has moved onβ€”it's 20 effing 24.

I have an M2 Macbook Pro with 8GB of RAM for work and would NEVER buy this. After the last update, and after reboot, I sit at 7/8GB used RAM. This thing chugs. What a piece of crap.

Its a total of 8 ounces heavier than the 13. 3.3 vs 2.75 lbs. You might want to hit the gym if you think thats heavy. The dimensions are larger but its not like a portable desktop.

Non-upgradeable is not the issue, and to a certain extent neither is the 8GB standard.

The real crime is TWO HUNDRED F**KING DOLLARS for an additional 8GB

Serious question, what do you have open? My wife wants something like this for home. Most of her work is browser based (she's a teacher - and they use Macs there) and, she might use some Office type applications (sheets, ppt, etc.). She currently has a 13" M1 MacBook Air at work and it's fine. Is the M2 with 8GB RAM that bad?

I have the base MacBook Air 15. Use it for web, email, X, YouTube etc. No issues at all. Very fast, runs cool. Currently connected to external monitor and looks great on that too with great sound. I do not know how to code, edit ,etc. or need that capability. Have 100GB available since I store photos etc in iCloud.
